The Composure - Strings Attached (Modern Short Stories)
The Composure have a pop punk base sound tinged with rock and roll aspects and are similar to Just Say Yes era Punchline, as well they should be featuring some common members. Strings Attached begins with the track “On The Run” which isn’t the best opener in that it doesn’t really set up the rest of the album. It is a decent track but would’ve been better placed later on. “The Spinning Of The World” is where the album really starts for me, decent pop punk with catchy lyrics. The main drawback for this album is that if you listen to it from start to finish it can be hard to remember individual tracks as some of them start to sound very similar. Stand out tracks for me are track 3, “Stop Now, Start Again”, and closer “Tabula Rasa”. “Tabula Rasa” is a good closer in the way that it makes you want to put the album on again, and because of that I’ve racked up a good few revolutions. Overall, Strings Attached is a decent album, nothing overly special but worth a listen. DK
